1. Trubisky needs to make the best of his second chance

The Chicago Bears officially named Mitchell Trubisky the starter on Sunday night. Nick Foles hurt his hip on the final drive of the Week 10 game against the Vikings and hasn’t practiced all week.

Trubisky needs to take advantage of his second chance. He got an opportunity to watch the offense from the sideline so he can make whatever adjustments to his game.

Trubisky, being the competitor he is, wasn’t happy with his benching. He bid his time, hoping for a second chance, per ESPN:

"The first couple days, it sucked being in that role, but I was trying to just continue to keep perspective and think long term. I want to play in this league a long time, and if I want to do that, there are things that I just need to continue to get better at. At that point, I just changed my mindset to embrace practice…It was tough, it was an adjustment, but I was always hopeful for another opportunity."

Trubisky now has that second chance, albeit against a very tough team. He just needs to stay within himself. He has some skill sets that are helpful against the Packers. This is not a defense that will pressure the quarterback very much. Green Bay ranks 19th in sacks with 21 and ranks 31st in quarterback knockdowns with 19. If the Bears’ offensive line can hold up Trubisky will have chances to make some big plays.

Hopefully, Trubsiky worked on his footwork and mechanics. If he can get the ball to the receivers and extend drives that’ll really go a long way to help the Bears win. Having long drives is a two-part winner — it keeps the defense fresh and it keeps Rodgers on the bench. The more time he spends on that bench the less time he has to make big plays.

This will be Trubisky’s last shot to make an impression with the Bears. No matter how Foles feels after this week, if Trubisky has a big game, he’ll earn himself another chance. If he strings together six games, then his stock rises. Even if it isn’t enough to stay in Chicago, it will help him get a job with another team. First things first, however. Let’s see if he does enough to help the Chicago Bears beat their hated rivals.
