FanDuel NFL Week 12 Picks and Advice: Running Back

In the top tier of running backs, Dalvin Cook ($11,000) stands alone. Even though he is $2,400 more than the next healthy running back, I still want him in as many cash lineups as possible, as he should have a 20+ point floor with an amazing matchup against Carolina.

Nick Chubb ($8,400) would be my second favorite running back for cash as, even though he has been losing passing down and goal-line work to Kareem Hunt ($6,600), who is also a phenomenal play, the combination of his talent as a runner and the great matchup with Jacksonville should yield 100+ yards and a touchdown.

On the other hand, I think Alvin Kamara ($8,600) and Derrick Henry ($8,300) will come in with much lower ownership, making them incredibly strong tournament plays. Kamara has a lot of uncertainty around injury and the quarterback change while Henry has a tough matchup against Indianapolis.

I do not like a lot of the mid-priced backs, and would much rather save with my RB2 and/or flex position with players like Kalen Ballage ($5,500), Wayne Gallman Jr. ($5,700) and even Brian Hill ($5,100) with the recent announcement of Todd Gurley’s absence.

As previously mentioned, I am not a fan of the mid-priced backs this week. This includes James Robinson ($7,400) against Cleveland, Melvin Gordon III ($6,800) against New Orleans and Clyde Edwards-Helaire ($6,700) against Tampa Bay. All of these players have incredibly tough matchups and in the case of Robinson and Gordon, offenses that do not yield a lot of scoring opportunities. Regardless of what format I am playing, I want guys with much higher upside in my lineups.
