The jolt of life that Jalen Hurts has given the Philadelphia Eagles offense since taking over the offense has been nothing short of remarkable. That was again evident as he got into a duel with Kyler Murray on Sunday and held his own. His Hail Mary attempt came up empty but the Eagles were in the game because of their rookie quarterback.

Hurts had a big day as, even though he completed only 24-of-44 passes, he threw for 338 yards with three touchdowns and no interceptions while also rushing for 63 yards and a touchdown. He consistently came up with big plays, especially in the clutch portions of the game.

What makes Hurts even more impressive is the lack of help he’s getting, The Eagles defense was quite bad once again on Sunday as Murray threw for over 400 yards on the day and the lack of consistent receiving options continues to be an issue.

However, with Carson Wentz now expressing his frustrations about being benched — though he doesn’t have a leg to stand on given the stark difference in performance between him and Hurts — the good news for the Eagles is that their rookie signal-caller is giving them promising early returns.
