50. . . Previous: 22nd. Detroit Lions. 24. team

Talk about limping to the finish line in the 2020 NFL season. Matthew Stafford was questionable for this game and, while he made a handful of pretty throws, it was evident throughout that he was not operating at full capacity. Moreover, D’Andre Swift might’ve been the Lions’ most consistent weapon on offense but they didn’t get a chance to ride him because they were so far behind so early in this matchup.

Detroit’s defense is a bonafide problem right now, not that this is a diversion from their trajectory early in the year. This unit was torched both through the air and on the ground throughout the game on Sunday and didn’t have enough answers with their handful of offensive plays to make a statement.

The 2021 offseason is going to be absolutely crucial for the future in the Motor City. Not only do they need to nail their head coach and general manager hires but they need to find ways to find consistency on both sides of the ball moving forward. Regardless, it’s clear that the Lions are heading straight towards another top-10 pick in the NFL Draft.
