Sunday Wild Card DraftKings NFL picks: Running Backs

No shock here, but Derrick Henry ($9,200) is the most expensive running back in the slate with over 28 DraftKings points in three of his last four games. He had 28-133-1 against Baltimore in the regular season and dominated them in last year’s playoff matchup. That could put Henry in a smash spot.

Alvin Kamara ($8,500) is off the COVID list and should play a massive role, even if it is against a tough Bears defense. Having said that, we’ve seen players struggle to get their sea legs after positive COVID tests, meaning Latavius Murray ($4,500) could be a nice pivot for the Saints backfield as he’s been quite productive with his touches this year.

Nick Chubb ($6,700) is another player in a tough matchup but I’m willing to bank on him with how he’s performed as the workhorse of the Browns offense. With head coach Kevin Stefanski out, my gut says they ride Chubb like old faithful. Kareem Hunt ($4,800) is a fade for me, however, as he’s seen a diminished role and has not been all that effective.

The emergence of J.K. Dobbins ($6,600) as the leader of the Ravens backfield is enticing against a bad Titans run defense in a game that could be a fast-paced affair. That could mean more touches for the rookie who’s been great when given the work.

For value options outside of Murray, the only play I truly like is Gus Edwards ($4,400). He continues to get respectable work and, if the game is fast-paced, he could be rotated in and make good on a number of touches in a favorable matchup.

In case you didn’t guess, I’m fading David Montgomery ($6,900) against a great Saints run defense that will key in on him and James Conner ($5,000) — as well as the rest of the Steelers backfield — given the fact that Pittsburgh has been so ineffective running the ball this season.
