NFL Power Rankings: 7 Best wide receivers in Conference Championships
4. Tyreek Hill, Kansas City Chiefs
Season Stats: 87 receptions, 1,257 yards, 15 touchdowns
A fourth-down pass from Chad Henne to Hill late in the fourth quarter secured the Chiefs would be playing this weekend but it was far from the only time the Chiefs relied on their blazing fast receiver to carry their offense.
Clocking in at almost 15 yards per reception, the speedy Tyreek Hill is a home-run hitter, capable of blowing a game open in the matter of seconds. Cleveland made the mistake of assigning linebackers to cover Hill but he exposed it with ease to the tune of eight catches for 110 yards. The combination of Hill and running mate Travis Kelce dares opposing defenses to essentially pick their poison.
Hill will have no easy task this weekend as he will likely line up opposite of Bills Pro Bowl cornerback Tre’Davious White. When they met last season, White held Hill to only three catches for 20 yards. But as we’ve seen from time and time again from Hill, all it takes is one play.
3. Travis Kelce, Kansas City Chiefs
Season Stats: 105 receptions, 1,416 yards, 11 touchdowns
In Kansas City’s last five postseason games, Travis Kelce has scored at least one touchdown in four of them with a grand total of five. Finishing second in the league in total receiving yards, Kelce is seemingly getting better every year and the postseason is when he especially comes alive.
Cleveland had seemingly no answer for Kelce as he hauled in eight catches for 109 yards, put Denzel Ward in a blender for a touchdown and converted long third downs to keep momentum with Kansas City.
Kelce will be relieved his QB1 Patrick Mahomes has cleared concussion protocol and is slated to start on Sunday, though he did manage a few catches with Chad Henne under center, including a 24-yard backbreaking third-down conversion.
Kelce and Chiefs fans alike will also be enthused when they learn that the Bills are the second-worst defense in the league defending the tight end position, surrendering 993 yards and 8 touchdowns to opposing tight ends. The recipe is there for a monster day from Kelce, especially in the red zone.
