NFL Power Rankings: 7 Best wide receivers in Conference Championships
2. Stefon Diggs, Buffalo Bills
Season Stats: 127 receptions, 1,535 yards, 8 touchdowns
Without a doubt the biggest move of the 2019 offseason, first-year Bill Stefon Diggs has been instrumental in the growth and progression of young star quarterback Josh Allen and has the Bills a game from the Super Bowl for the first time in over 25 years.
The NFL receiving yards leader, Diggs has been awesome since Week 1 and has only turned it up since entering the postseason. With 14 catches, 234 yards and two touchdowns through two games, Diggs is making a strong case to be called the best receiver in the NFL.
Since Week 13, Diggs has amassed 824 yards and six scores and is heading into Arrowhead Stadium firing on all cylinders. With no true lockdown corner on the Kansas City defense, it will have to be a collective effort if they hope to slow down the seventh-year Maryland product.
While Diggs has looked dominant, the Bills offense hasn’t quite put it all together yet in the playoffs, including a season-low 10 points last week. Buffalo will need to score a lot more than 10 points if they are to keep pace with Kansas City; look for them to lean on Diggs to get them there.
1. Davante Adams, Green Bay Packers
Season Stats: 115 receptions, 1,374 yards, 18 touchdowns
Despite missing two and half games, Davante Adams still managed to finish fifth in the NFL in receiving yards and first in touchdown receptions. Adams has long been included in top five discussions at the position for a while but, this season, he has established him as top dog in the NFL.
His precise route-running, quick cuts and sure hands have made him by far and away Aaron Rodgers favorite target, and has been a huge part of Rodgers MVP season.
Adams is coming off a game where he saw looks from both Jalen Ramsey and Darious Williams and held up reasonably well with nine grabs for 66 yards and a score. In his first matchup against Tampa this season, it was Adams’ first game back from injury and he was noticeably not 100 percent.
He comes into this matchup fully healthy and in the middle of a hot streak. With 254 yards and five touchdowns in his past three games, it’s full steam ahead for Adams and the Packers offense as they welcome a tenacious Buccaneers defense to frozen Lambeau.
Adams will likely draw a matchup with Carlton Davis, fresh off a game where he held Michael Thomas to zero receptions. A more explosive route-runner than Thomas, look for Adams to break press, find the gaps in the zone and stretch the field both vertically and across the middle for Green Bay.
