Alijah Vera-Tucker. 15. player. 47. IOL. Pick Analysis. USC. Scouting Report

The interior offensive linemen had to wait a minute to hear their names start to be called but now, we have back-to-back guards coming off the board as the New England Patriots take USC’s Alijah Vera-Tucker at No. 15. Vera-Tucker played tackle this past season for the Trojans but projects best at guard in the NFL, which is exactly where New England will want him.

Joe Thuney played on the franchise tag this past season but it’s highly unlikely he returns due to the money he will command. Instead of backing up the Brinks truck, look for Bill Belichick to get younger and cheaper at the position. It won’t help their quarterback situation, but it’s starting to seem as though he’s determined to find someone by any means necessary, as long as it doesn’t involve a first-round pick.

Florida. Kyle Pitts. TE. 16. player. Scouting Report. Pick Analysis. 32

This is a player who simply fits the Arizona Cardinals need like a glove. Kyler Murray took a massive step forward in 2020 after they added DeAndre Hopkins and now if Florida tight end Kyle Pitts falls to them in this mock, they have to pull the trigger.

Hopkins’ ability to stretch the field opened things up for Murray but there were still times where the rest of the pass-catchers couldn’t make the defense pay for focusing too heavily on Hopkins. Adding an explosive player such as Pitts — the consensus No. 1 tight end in the draft — will do exactly that for this offense.
