NFL: 27 most likely non-QB future Hall of Famers
Gronkowski was well on his way to Canton when he walked off the field a Super Bowl champion for the third time in 2018, and into retirement, but only bolstered his candidacy in 2020.
Following a one-year retirement, Gronkowski returned in 2020 and proved plenty capable of still being plenty productive. This season, joining Tom Brady in Tampa Bay, Gronkowski caught 45 passes for 623 yards and seven touchdowns, while playing in 75 percent of the Buccaneers’ snaps.
Currently sixth all-time in receiving yards by a tight end, Gronkowski seems to have a clear path to Canton with Tony Gonzalez, Antonio Gates, and Shannon Sharpe already in the Hall of Fame, with Jason Witten well on his way five years after retirement and Greg Olsen having a strong candidacy, as well.
What sets Gronkowski apart from his contemporaries on the all-time receiving list, Gronkowski now has the chance to possibly put a fourth Super Bowl ring on his finger.
Regardless of what happens in Super Bowl LV, Gronkowski has the credentials to wind up in the Hall of Fame after being named a four-time First-Team All-Pro and five-time Pro Bowler in 10 seasons.
