FanDuel Super Bowl picks and lineup advice: Wide Receiver
Wide receiver is certainly the most interesting position on this slate, with plenty of fantasy points likely to go around in a high scoring passing affair. On the Bucs side, Antonio Brown ($9,500) looks likely to make his return from injury in the Super Bowl after missing the Conference Championship game due to a knee injury.
Even though it is near impossible to predict which Bucs receiver is going to pop off any given week, they have been consistent in how they do so. Mike Evans ($11,500) has 15 receiving touchdowns on the year to Chris Godwin’s ($12,000) eight, but Godwin is averaging seven more receiving yards and one more reception per game.
Considering their price, I actually like both of these receivers as pivots off of some of the more expensive options in the Chiefs offense. If Brown sits, Scotty Miller ($6,500) becomes a very intriguing punt play, as he also found some success before Brown joined the team during the earlier parts of the season.
As for the Chiefs side of the ball, Tyreek Hill ($14,000) is the primary play at wide receiver. Even though he is one of the best players in the league at breaking a big play, he has also been one of the most targeted wide receivers in the NFL, seeing double-digit targets in seven of his past nine games. With Tampa Bay’s secondary being extremely vulnerable to big plays, I like Hill’s chances to have a big blowup game if given double-digit opportunities.
It gets more interesting when looking at the secondary options on the Chiefs. Mecole Hardman ($7,500) is known for his speed and ability to break a big play, though he has yet to have a 100 yard game on the season. Sammy Watkins ($7,500) has not played much this year and has similarly not had a big game. However, with both these players having a cheap price tag of $7,500, they will likely be essential pieces in most builds with two quarterbacks or other multiple expensive players.
