Super Bowl bold prediction No. 8: Leonard Fournette hits 10+ receptions

Throughout the playoffs, it’s been clear that either Tom Brady or Bruce Arians much prefers having Leonard Fournette on the field than Ronald Jones. The former has 48 carries and 14 receptions over the three postseason games to this point and has done good work with those touches.

In previous Super Bowl appearances, we’ve seen Brady be more than comfortable looking for his running backs in the passing game for easy completions that allow them to get in space to work. With Fournette’s evolving receiving prowess, we’ll see more of that on Sunday.

Fournette is going to be the most-targeted Bucs pass-catcher in the matchup and, not only that, he’ll haul plenty of them in. He’ll have double-digit receptions for the first time in his career and will likely put up terrific yardage numbers as well.

Super Bowl bold prediction No. 7: Mike Evans catches 3 TDs

Sticking with the Buccaneers offense, the monster day that Tyreek Hill had against Tampa in the regular-season matchup between the two teams overshadows two things. The first is that the Bucs were able to claw their way back into that game while the second was a nice day for Mike Evans.

Yes, Evans only caught three of his nine targets in the game but two of those were for touchdowns and he still got up to 50 yards. Not only should we expect that efficiency to tick up in this matchup but we should also believe that he’ll continue to be the preferred red-zone target.

Tampa Bay should be able to move the ball in this game, as they were in the late stages of the Week 12 showdown. If that happens, Evans will be peppered for touchdown opportunities and will reap the benefits with three big scores.
