2021 NFL Mock Draft: Zach Wilson rises to Jets at No. 2 in 3-round projection

At No. 12, the San Francisco 49ers can go a couple of ways. They could try and land a quarterback to replace Jimmy Garopplo, who clearly isn’t the best option going forward. He has days where he looks the part but at other times, he looks to be all over the place with his passes.
Even worse is his inability to stay on the field. Ever since he joined the 49ers, Jimmy G has been dealing with one injury after another and there are now concerns in house that he won’t be the guy full-time.
The problem is, the top three options are already off the board and while Mac Jones could be an option, the 49ers decide to go elsewhere as they take Caleb Farley out of Virginia Tech. The 6-foot-2, 197-pound corner is an intriguing prospect who excelled in 2019 before opting out of the 2020 season.
He’s still fairly new to the position but already has shown he can handle the job against some of the best in the business. There are injury concerns though as he had a torn ACL in 2017 and missed a couple of games in 2019 with back spasms. San Francisco would surely like to have a player with no injury concerns but the talent is simply too much for them to pass up at this spot.
