San Francisco 49ers dream free agency target No. 1: Kenny Golladay, WR

Throughout his time in the NFL, Kyle Shanahan has proven that he can elevate an offense regardless of the overall talent level of the unit. However, giving him an elite weapon in the passing game could take things to another level.

All signs are pointing towards Jimmy Garoppolo coming back to the 49ers and surrounding him with better wide receivers could be what he needs to take the next step. Kenny Golladay is a deep threat who can take the top off defenses while offering other services as well. Moreover, he can create better opportunities for weapons like George Kittle, Brandon Aiyuk and Deebo Samuel.

Golladay is the best wide receiver on the market in 2021 free agency and, while it may not be an immediate need for the 49ers, adding Golladay is an opportunity to great to pass up. Shanahan has seen NFC West wide receiver groups get better recently and could follow the trend. Golladay would be a tremendous addition to accomplish that.

The former Lion’s ability to adjust to the ball, make acrobatic and contested catches, and simply get loose at all levels should never go unnoticed. He may not be the best wide receiver in the league and won’t get that type of money. But he’s out of San Francisco’s price range unless they pull of something wild to free up money.
