AJ Green, WR (Cincinnati Bengals)

Grade: B

The Cardinals added another veteran that spent the entirety of his career with one team in AJ Green of the Cincinnati Bengals. Green is a seven time Pro Bowler with six 1,000-yard seasons but the last time he did that was 2017.

Green signed a one-year deal worth $8 million with $6 million guaranteed which could be a bargain if he is back to full strength but could be an albatross if he is not. The veteran receiver was once one of the best players in the NFL and pairing him with DeAndre Hopkins would have been a mouth-watering prospect but he has faced injury problems recently including missing the entire 2019 season.

Just like the JJ Watt signing, this deal all comes back to health. Green is not the player he once was but could be rejuvenated by being a secondary target in a dynamic offense. The Cardinals have been looking for a competent number two receiver to pair with Hopkins and adding Green gives them a great trio when Christian Kirk is in the mix.

If AJ Green is healthy and can give Arizona 50-60 catches for 700-800 yards then this will be a successful signing. If he is not able to do that then the Cardinals are back to square one and will need much more from Christian Kirk and Andy Isabella.
