Pick Analysis. Notre Dame. Liam Eichenberg. player. Scouting Report. 19. 49. OT

Trade: Packers send No. 29 and 92 to Washington for No. 19 and 244 – Setting aside the fact that I’m a huge fan of Liam Eichenberg, I have a sneaking suspicion that the NFL will feel the same. He’s not an elite athlete but he’s one of the smartest offensive players in the entire class and it shows on every rep. Pair that with his size, strength and passable physical traits otherwise, and he’s going to have a long, effective career in the NFL.

The Packers are willing to bet on that to fill a huge need on the offensive line. They cut Rick Wagner after one season as he failed to replace Bryan Bulaga but Eichenberg can fill that role beautifully for Green Bay, allowing them to shuffle the interior a bit and keep the trenches a strength on that side of the ball. It costs them their third-round pick but, when you’re in a Super Bowl window, you have to get aggressive.

Scouting Report. Pick Analysis. CB. Virginia Tech. 20. 123. Caleb Farley. player

(Pick via Bears by way of Bengals) – After missing out on Surtain, the Cowboys traded down and got an extra second-round pick to do so. And they lucked out in a huge way with Virginia Tech cornerback Caleb Farley falling into their laps with the No. 20 overall pick. Though there are questions with the prospect, he’s a player that could very obviously help a Dallas secondary that needs playmakers.

Not only does Farley have the best ball skills of any cornerback in the 2021 draft class, he’s the best overall athlete too. He’s just sniffing his potential and has already put up some great film. However, two back injuries, the latest requiring a recent surgery, have caused his stock to fall. That’s to the delight of the Cowboys who are more than willing to take the slight risk on a player with limitless upside at a position of dire need.
