CB. 21. 15. Scouting Report. Northwestern. Greg Newsome II. player. Pick Analysis

Trade: Saints send No. 28 and 133 to Colts for No. 21 overall – Due to some salary cap issues, we saw the Saints cut ties with a number of key players this offseason, particularly on defense. While they are still waiting to find out if they have a long-term quarterback option to replace Drew Brees, they work to fill in the gaps on the other side of the ball by, yet again, trading up and trying to fill the hole left by Janoris Jenkins’ departure.

Greg Newsome II is a guy capable of doing exactly that. He has great ball skills in his own right and also has displayed tremendous athleticism for the position as well. He’s clearly still picking up some nuances of the position at a high level with his footwork and body positioning but he’s capable of starting and playing well right away, especially as a CB2 opposite Marshon Lattimore.

Alabama. 22. player. Scouting Report. Pick Analysis. RB. Najee Harris. 55

Trade: Steelers send No. 24 and 216 to Titans for No. 22 overall – If the Steelers are going to make one last run at trying to win a title with Ben Roethlisberger at the quarterback spot, they need to firmly figure out their identity on the offensive side of the ball. And with James Conner now in Arizona, that means they need someone who can get back to the ways of controlling the game out of the backfield in Pittsburgh.

Najee Harris is 100 percent that type of player, which is why the Steelers are comfortable moving up two spots to jump ahead of the Jets and take him. A behemoth at the running back position, Harris doesn’t have blinding speed but he’s exceptionally agile and quick for his size. Moreover, his ability to both be a great traditional runner while also catching well out of the backfield makes him an ideal fit to lead the Steelers backfield.
