2021 NFL Mock Draft: Cowboys fix defense, Justin Fields slides to Broncos

26. Cleveland Browns: Jeremiah Owusu-Koramoah, LB, Notre Dame
General manager Andrew Berry has done a great job rebuilding the Cleveland Browns in a short time. Last season, he added Jack Conklin, Jedrick Wills, and Austin Hooper to shore up the offense. All those moves were made with head coach Kevin Stefanski in mind, getting him a roster he could work with. Now this offseason, Berry worked on fixing the defense for defensive coordinator Joe Woods.
Berry signed safety John Johnson III, cornerback Troy Hill, defensive end Takk McKinley, linebacker Anthony Walker, and defensive tackle Malik Jackson. If that wasn’t impressive enough, he went out and added former No. 1 overall pick Jadeveon Clowney to the roster as well.
These moves have been huge since it means the Browns no longer have any glaring holes. Yes, there are positions that need to be improved upon and they need some youth with several of the aforementioned players on one-year deals, but there’s no need to reach at 26. Instead, they can take the best player available which happens to be Jeremiah Owusu-Koramoah from Notre Dame.
Listed as a linebacker, Owusu-Koramoah is more of a hybrid player at 216-pounds.
He’s a perfect fit for Cleveland’s defense which wants to use more of a 4-2-5 look where they emphasize coverage. Having JOK not only allows them to continue with this but his skill as a linebacker would also mean they’re not sacrificing anything against the run either.
