1. The fall of Justin Fields

If you’ve listened to any draft expert talk about Justin Fields, no one has a big knock on him. He has the arm strength to make all the throws. In terms of size, he has it standing at nearly 6-3 230 pounds. Athletically he’s shown on tape how gifted he was and proved it again running a sub-4.5-second 40-yard dash.

So, why exactly did he fall? No one knows, but the Chicago Bears refused to let him fall any further.

Commentary drowned the commotion that took place. What happened next shocked everyone. The Bears traded the No. 20 pick along with a 2021 fifth-round pick, 2022 first-round and 2022 fourth-round pick to Eagles for No. 11. Fields will be the day one starter for the Chicago Bears, who parted ways with Mitchel Trubiksy after an unsuccessful tenure.

He’ll come onto a team with a solid running game led by David Montgomery. The read-option can and should play a major role in the Bears’ offense. One read passing options off play-action will make his transition easy. As the season goes, offensive coordinator Bill Lazor can open up the playbook. This was not just a surprise pick, but this like the ideal fit for a town starving for a quarterback.
