As it stands right now, the Dallas Cowboys look really good at tight end. Dalton Schultz is fresh off his greatest season as a pro after hauling in 63 receptions for 615 yards and four touchdowns. He did this in relief of Blake Jarwin, who tore his ACL after just one catch.

Jarwin is expected to make a full recovery and considering he just got a pretty sizable extension before the 2020 season, it’s clear this staff believes in him. Behind those two is Jeremy Sprinkle, who has 33 starts in 59 career games for the Washington Football Team.

Sprinkle isn’t a huge weapon in the passing game but his experience and skill as a blocker make him one of the more valuable No. 3 tight ends in the game. The presence of these three would explain why Dallas elected not to use a draft pick on a tight end but they could still have room for a fourth on the roster — especially if they don’t carry a fullback and want to make sure Jarwin is healthy before fully unleashing him.

For those reasons, Nick Eubanks could find himself competing for a spot — and he would have a chance. He would have to beat out former teammate Sean McKeon who was undrafted last year from Michigan as well as fellow UDFA Artayvious Lynn from TCU, but Eubanks has shown skill as a blocker and has six career touchdown catches. He could end up being a darkhorse for the fourth spot (if the Cowboys keep one).
