20 NFL bold predictions after the 2021 NFL Draft

8. Myles Garrett will win NFL Defensive Player of the Year
For the past two seasons, Myles Garrett has spent the first 10 games or so playing lights out. But then, something has happened in each of the past two campaigns to derail things.
2019 saw Garrett record 29 tackles with 10 sacks in 10 games but then he made the wrong kind of headlines. Garrett was involved in a fight with Mason Rudolph where he took the helmet off Rudolph’s head and hit him with it.
Garrett was suspended for the rest of the season but then started out 2020 on fire. He again was on a tear with 9.5 sacks in nine games but then came down with Covid-19. He missed the next couple of games and when he returned, he was visibly bothered by the after-effects as his stamina wasn’t what it used to be.
The Cleveland star finished with 12 sacks in 14 games but was knocked out of the discussion for NFL Defensive Player of the Year. Now looking ahead to 2021, there’s no reason to think he won’t be back on track and as long as he plays all 17 games, Garrett should be in the mix for the award this season.
This bold prediction is that not only will he be in the discussion, but 2021 will be the year that Garrett ends up winning the award.
