5. Ty Nsekhe, OT

We already looked at the Cowboys’ addition of Josh Ball which was important for the long-term future of the offensive tackle position. However, they also needed someone who could step in this season and play if (when) someone gets hurt — and they added that with veteran tackle Ty Nsekhe.

At 35-years of age, Nsekhe has been in the NFL since 2012 — which came after three seasons in the Arena Football League and one season in the Arena Football League 2. After spending time with teams such as the Corpus Christi Sharks, Dallas Vigilantes, and Philadelphia Soul, Nsekhe finally got a shot in the NFL.

He bounced around more, before heading to Montreal and even the Los Angeles Kiss. But then in 2015, Nsekhe caught his break with Washington. He was there for four seasons and had 16 starts in 54 games played.

He then spent the past two seasons as a swing tackle with the Buffalo Bills. He appeared in 25 games during that span but had just one start. Even so, he has always held his own when called upon and he gives Dallas a player who can fill in for either La’el Collins or Tyron Smith. He won’t perform at the same level they do, but he also won’t be a major liability either.
