17. New England Patriots: Garrett Wilson, WR, Ohio State

Even after spending big money in free agency on wide receivers and tight ends, the New England Patriots still lack a top target for the future. This is where Ohio State wide receiver Garrett Wilson steps in. While he has a right to be the top wide receiver taken next year, he comes off as the second receiver in this mock draft.

This is to the benefit of the Patriots as they bring him to Boston in this 2022 NFL Mock Draft. On a team with Chris Olave, Wilson matched his production, reeling in 43 passes for 723 yards and six touchdowns a year ago. He will look to be the quarterback’s best friend again in 2021 as Ohio State will be faced with a new name under-center this season.

18. Los Angeles Chargers: Zach Harrison, EDGE, Ohio State

This will be the year of Zach Harrison.

After learning from the likes of (and still producing!) Chase Young, Johnathan Cooper, and Tyreke Smith, Harrison is now ready to take the Big Ten by storm. He is ultra-athletic, and capped his 2020 season off with a great showing on tape against Alabama. On the year, Harrison racked up four and half tackles for loss and two sacks in six games for the Buckeyes.

After letting the aging Melvin Ingram walk this offseason, the Los Angeles Chargers are back in the market for their second edge defender to pair with Joey Bosa. What is better than one Buckeye? Two Buckeyes. With the 18th pick here, the Chargers land the traitsy Harrison to improve their pass rush.
