NFL History: 30 players fans loved to loathe: 27. Keyshawn Johnson

It was pretty easy to hate Keyshawn Johnson. He enjoyed talking trash with opposing defenders as well as enemy fan bases. Johnson often stepped onto the field and acted as if he was the best player, yet, more times than not, he wasn’t.

Johnson may have been the number one overall pick in the 1996 NFL Draft but he’s widely known as a bust. Still, despite that, he never stopped talking trash about the people he played and on some occasions, the teammates he had. Johnson bounced around the league and didn’t make many friends while doing so. In his book titled Just Give Me The Damn Ball Johnson ripped several of his former teammates and continued to alienate himself from just about every fanbase in the league.

Ultimately, when it came to Johnson, fans didn’t enjoy booing him because he would put up big numbers. Instead, they got on the receiver for his continued arrogance and acting as if he was an all-world player when he was simply a decent one.
