Green Bay Packers: Sterling Sharpe, Wide Receiver
Maybe we should be asking for Brett Favre to come back for the Green Bay Packers since Aaron Rodgers is unhappy and is sending signals that he wants out. But maybe, bringing back an elite wide receiver would be enough to convince Rodgers to stay — especially since much of his frustration seems to be centered around the front office not giving him enough weapons in the passing game.
With that being said, it’s hard to think of a better option for them to add than Sterling Sharpe in his prime. The older brother of the much-more famous Shannon Sharpe, Sterling was one of the best receivers in the NFL but had his career cut short due to a neck injury. Had this not happened, he surely would have continued to pile on the impressive stats and would probably be in the Hall of Fame with his brother says Bob Fox of Bleacher Report.
"“If not for a neck injury that forced him to retire, Sterling Sharpe was destined for the Pro Football Hall of Fame. Sharpe was named All-Pro five times and was also named to five Pro Bowl squads. Sharpe led the NFL in receptions three times, including back-to-back seasons when Sharpe had more than 100 receptions for the first time in NFL history.” — Bob Fox, Bleacher Report"
His best season was in 1992 when he had 108 receptions for 1,461 yards and 13 touchdowns but was still playing at a high level in 1994 when he had 18 touchdowns on 94 catches for 1,119 yards. Putting him on the same field as Davante Adams would seem to be enough to convince Rodgers to give the front office more time. It would also mean Green Bay would have the best receiving duo in the entire NFL.
