Minnesota Vikings: Randy Moss, Wide Receiver

One of the hottest recruits of all time, Randy Moss had his choice of several big-name schools to attend. Originally, he settled on Notre Dame but he never suited up for them as the school denied his enrollment due to a fight in high school. He was then committed to Florida State but never played for them either as he found himself in more hot water.

Eventually, Moss landed at Marshall, where was just a monster. He proved to be a freak of an athlete and deserved to be a day one pick. In fact, he was expected to land with the Dallas Cowboys, which was his favorite team growing up, at No. 8 overall. Dallas dropped the ball, however, and passed on Moss.

In the end, he slid to the Minnesota Vikings at No. 21 in the 1998 NFL Draft and he used the motivation to completely humiliate the NFL — and especially the Cowboys when they would play. As a rookie, he set the NFL record for touchdown receptions with 17, and then in 2007 with the New England Patriots, he set the NFL record with 23 touchdowns.

Arguably the greatest deep threat to ever play, Moss had 982 receptions for 15,292 yards with 156 touchdowns. Those numbers could have been even better had it not been for a stretch with the Oakland Raiders where he was visibly unhappy and put up subpar numbers for a couple of seasons.

Right now, Minnesota has a strong receivers corps led by Justin Jefferson and Adam Thielen so wideout might not be the biggest need. Even so, the answer for who they need to bring back is Randy Moss. And it always would be Randy Moss.
