Philadelphia Eagles: Reggie White, Defensive End

One of the many teams in a transitional period this year is the Philadelphia Eagles. They made a big move this offseason as they fired Doug Pederson just three seasons after he won the Super Bowl for them.

They also elected to trade Carson Wentz, who missed that Super Bowl with a torn ACL but was instrumental in them winning their division that year as he was playing at an MVP level before the injury. Wentz is now the starter for Indianapolis where he will work under Frank Reich who was the offensive coordinator when the Eagles won it all.

Reich wasn’t going anywhere so the Eagles couldn’t get him back but they did take his offensive coordinator as they hired Nick Sirianni as the head coach. They still have a lot to figure out, including whether or not Jalen Hurts will be the guy under center.

Adding some offensive help would be a good move but there’s no way to pass on taking Reggie White back in this legend scenario. White was the face of the franchise for years in Philly as he racked up an incredible 124 sacks in eight seasons.

He then made waves in free agency in 1993 when he signed with the Green Bay Packers and played there for six years and scored another 68.5 sacks and won a Super Bowl ring as well. White retired after the 1998 season but returned in 2000 to play for the Carolina Panthers and he had 5.5 sacks at age 39.

A two-time NFL Defensive Player of the Year and 13-time Pro Bowler, White was unstoppable during his day, but he could still dominate in this era if we were able to bring him to the field in 2021.
