One bold prediction for the Carolina Panthers in 2021-22: Go winless

Fans were jumping for joy when it was announced that their Carolina Panthers would be acquiring Sam Darnold. After spending the past few seasons watching Cam Newton throw the ball to the other team and most recently, watching in disbelief as Teddy Bridgewater dinked and dunked his way to field goal range, Darnold was a welcomed sight.

Make no mistake about it, he’ll be an upgrade over both quarterbacks but we also don’t believe he’ll win a single game with his new team.

After fans are done rejoicing, let’s just remind them of how awful Darnold was during his time with the New York Jets. In three seasons, Darnold managed to win only 13 games while almost doubling the atoning of losses with 25. He’s also missed ten games as well due to nagging injuries.

In a league where completing passes has become increasingly easy, Darnold struggled to do so. His career-high completion percentage checks in at 61.9. If that wasn’t bad enough, he was under 60% in his other two seasons under center.

Now, of course, the Jets didn’t help him much in terms of weapons and yes, Robby Anderson and D.J. Moore are thousand-yard receivers but even with those pieces in place and the return of Christian McCaffrey, we expect Darnold to struggle. So much so that the Panthers won’t win a single game this season.
