Social media is having a field day with Ja’Marr Chase dropping three balls for the Cincinnati Bengals against Washington. He finished his second preseason game with zero reception on just those three targets.

Was it his best outing? No. Is it time to claim they erred in taking him over Penei Sewell? Also no. That won’t stop the social media hype train from saying as such though.

The Bengals, however, can’t concern themselves too much with that. They have to be worried about only one thing — Joe Burrow’s knee. As long as he’s healthy and trusts that knee, the Bengals will be able to compete.

The New York Jets took it to the Green Bay Packers and the best part of that was how well their young quarterback played. Zach Wilson, the second overall pick out of BYU, was 9-of-11 for 128 yards and hit tight end Tyler Kroft for two touchdowns.

Running back Michael Carter also stood out with 52 yards on 10 carries giving them hope that they could have a great ground game as well. Unfortunately, not all the news this week was good for Gang Green.

Before their game on Saturday, they lost pass-rusher Carl Lawson to an Achilles tear which ended his first season with the Jets before it even began. That’s a huge blow to their defense but the hope their offense gave them this weekend could help them feel like they still can be better in 2021 than 2020.
