It was an ugly game for the Carolina Panthers who musted up just 33 yards rushing in a 20-3 loss to the Ravens. In addition to their struggles on the ground, they might have a kicking problem as well, with Joey Slye showing a sign of the yips (sorry Ted Lass, I know you hate that term).

Part of the problem could be complacency says Dean Jones of Cat Crave who added that the Panthers may have erred in getting rid of any competition for Slye before the preseason began.

"“Carolina has a big upcoming complication with Slye. They chose not to bring in any real competition for the former Virginia Tech star during training camp, with Zane Gonzalez and Matt Ammendola not lasting long before they were shipped out. This has clearly led to some complacency from the player’s perspective. Whether he or the coaching staff will admit it or not.”  — Jones, Cat Crave"

There could be bigger concerns than a kicker, but that still is something to worry about for a team that can play close with anyone but cannot afford any errors.

team. 45. . . Previous: 23rd. Denver Broncos. 23

Denver just keeps rolling.

Now at 2-0, the Broncos have looked great during this preseason and the best part is, they suddenly have a legit quarterback battle on their hands. That’s because Teddy Bridgewater and Drew Lock have both played well, although Sayre Bedinger of Predominantly Orange says Bridgewater was nearly “flawless” against the Seahawks.

"“The Denver Broncos‘ quarterback position battle has not yet been decided, but Teddy Bridgewater has continued his strong case to be QB1 for the 2021 season. Against the Seattle Seahawks, Bridgewater got two series to get work in with the top offense, and he was just about flawless.” — Bedinger, Predominantly Orange"

Denver would probably prefer Lock win the battle since his ceiling is much higher, but TBH2O as a fall-back option isn’t a terrible plan at all.
