13. Washington Football Team: J.T. Daniels, QB, Georgia

There was a faction of fans that believed Taylor Heinicke was going to be the starter for the Washington Football Team after his performance in the playoffs last year. He didn’t get the win but he took it to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and proved he had no fear.

Having said that, turning everything over to him after one game would have been a mistake. Head coach Ron Rivera understood this which is why he and the front office added Ryan Fitzpatrick, who might be a journeyman but he’s good for a few 400-yard games per season.

On top of that, this could be the best defense Fitzpatrick has ever played with, so he could finally start to lead a team to some wins. However, he’s also in his 17th season so he’s not the long-term answer either.

That’s why the Football Team uses this pick on J.T. Daniels from the University of Georgia. Daniels still has a lot to prove but he’s one of those players who just seem to have all the tools to make it in the NFL. It doesn’t hurt that he plays at Georgia where he will be tested against some of the better defenses in the nation. Should he succeed this year, it could be enough to push him into the top-15.
