4. CeeDee Lamb has to be a steady presence in the Dallas Cowboys passing game

Amid the injuries for the Dallas Cowboys is wide receiver Michael Gallup, who will be out for about a month with a calf strain. The good news for Dallas is that they are loaded at the position. But some people still might be looking for Cedrick Wilson or Noah Brown to step up and make some plays. However, it’s one of the other stars that I’m looking at to step up.

CeeDee Lamb had as much hype as anyone coming into the 2021 season and for good reason. The 2020 first-round pick wowed with his catches in training camp and has all the talent in the world. And for what it’s worth, he performed well in the opener against the Buccaneers with seven receptions for 104 yards and a touchdown.

Having said that, it was a decisively imperfect outing for Lamb. He not only had a couple of bad-looking drops throughout the night but he also didn’t seem engaged for 60 minutes. That’s unacceptable for a player with his talent and, with Gallup out, it must change.

The good news for the Cowboys is the fact that Lamb locked in once Gallup had to leave the game and looked much better. But that needs to be the case from the jump if the Dallas offense is going to remain performing at an elite level.
