This weekend had several serious injuries and some that weren’t as bad. For the Los Angeles Rams, they were fortunate enough that theirs fell into the ‘not so bad’ category.

Starting quarterback Matthew Stafford suffered a thumb injury which seemed to affect his throwing on the day. He did enough to get the win in Week 2 but he didn’t look nearly as good as he did in his debut against the Bears.

Stafford finished with 278 yards on 19-of-30 throwing with two touchdowns and a pick. One of those touchdowns came in the fourth quarter following the Colts taking the lead 21-17. Stafford responded with a nine-play, 58-yard drive that ended with a 10-yard touchdown pass to Cooper Kupp to put L.A. back ahead 24-1.

A field goal from Rodrigo Blankenship tied it back up but the Rams then killed most of the clock as they covered 55 yards on 12 plays before Matt Gay hit a 38-yard field goal to make the final score 27-24.

Now sitting at 2-0, the Rams are looking as strong as advertised. Their new quarterback has the offense looking more dangerous and even though they allowed the Colts to catch up in this one, their defense still has some elite players, including Jalen Ramsey who made life hard on poor Jacob Eason who had to fill in for an injured Carson Wentz.
