13. Green Bay Packers: Garrett Wilson, WR, Ohio State

Things could look very different for the Green Bay Packers in 2022. Their star quarterback, Aaron Rodgers, has made his unhappiness with the team no secret. After spending the entire offseason away, he returned but doesn’t seem to be any happier.

The question about his desire to be there became even more pronounced when the Packers looked flat in Week 1 against New Orleans. They did rebound against the Detroit Lions in Week 2, but it’s still highly likely Rodgers will be gone.

Green Bay also has a problem with receiver Davante Adams, who doesn’t have a new deal yet. He too could be a short-timer which would completely deplete their wide receiver corps. That’s why they use this pick on Garrett Wilson from Ohio State — and even if they get things figured out with their star players, Wilson would be a great selection for them since they’re thin behind Adams.

Wilson is a former five-star recruit who runs great routes and has soft hands. He’s one of the top prospects at his position and in this mock, he does become the first wideout to come off the board. Whether it’s Aaron Rodgers or Jordan Love throwing him the ball, Wilson can help this Packers offense take a step forward while developing into a legit No. 1 receiver down the road.
