14. Philadelphia Eagles (via Miami Dolphins): Jordan Davis, DT, Georgia

Back on the clock for the third time, we once have the Philadelphia Eagles. They already bolstered the defense tremendously by grabbing the best cornerback in Derek Stingley, Jr. and the best linebacker in Christian Harris. So naturally, we move to the front lines now and add the top defensive tackle by selecting Jordan Davis from Georgia.

Listed at 6-foot-6 and 340-pounds, Davis is a monster on the D-line but as Drae Harris of The Draft Network points out, he’s still athletic and versatile enough to play either the 1 or 3-tech.

"“Jordan Davis aligns as an interior defensive lineman for the Bulldogs’ even front defense. He typically aligns at the 3-tech but has also played the 1 as they shift their front pre-snap. He demonstrates good reactive athleticism and lateral agility for a young man his size. He has good get off and has very explosive hands, easily jolting back the opposition where he can then disrupt the play. It’s hard to run directly at this player, as he does an outstanding job of holding the point, disengaging, and getting to the football.” — Harris, The Draft Network"

Harris does add that Davis needs work on passing downs but even if he’s a two-down player, his addition only further solidifies the Philly defense.

With these three picks, they suddenly can be contenders in the NFC East with the ability to shut down any opposing offense.
