Is it possible that the Taylor Heinicke magic is starting to wear off for the Washington Football Team? It sure seems like it with the beating the Bills delivered on Sunday in Buffalo — or, rather, Orchard Park.

Sure, the backup quarterback whose legend was growing coming into this matchup made some plays, throwing two touchdowns and putting his body on the line once again to rush for another. But the negative plays, including two turnovers, were super costly. However, it also plays into the real issue with Washington.

Many people were expecting Chase Young, Da’Ron Payne and the Washington defense to be one of the best units in the league. They’ve decisively not been that and the Bills put that on full display as Josh Allen picked them apart with easy, which is even more telling given that Buffalo had not been clicking offensively wholly prior to this game.

Until the Football Team gets their defense figured out and especially while Heinicke is still starting, this team could fall dangerously behind in the NFC East race.
