Indianapolis Colts: 3 trades that could go down before the deadline

2. EDGE Ben Banogu to the Chiefs

The Indianapolis Colts, once upon a time, used a second-round pick on pass rusher Ben Banogu.

The former TCU star was the 49th overall pick in the 2019 NFL Draft, so he’s still only in his third NFL season and is not yet 26 years old.

There is still some upside there with Banogu, but the Colts obviously aren’t envisioning anything more than a rotational impact from him at present.

Indianapolis used its top two picks in the 2021 NFL Draft on pass rushers Kwity Paye and Dayo Odeyingbo.

So far this season, Banogu has only played more than 10 snaps in just two games, and with his role diminishing, he’s obviously a player that would make sense for the Colts to move if they can get some value.

They might be able to get some value from the Kansas City Chiefs, who have apparently been shopping for some help off the edge. The Chiefs may prefer a veteran option to a young upside play like Banogu would be, but this guy’s physical traits are tremendous and you never know when you might strike gold.
