NFL: Ranking the worst QB Chemistry in the league: 4. Mac Jones to N’Keal Harry – New England Patriots
The New England Patriots have been terrible at drafting wide receivers. There are more Chad Jacksons and Aaron Dobsons for every positive wide receiver draft picks. However, Bill Belichick never took a wide receiver in the first round. That is until he took Arizona State’s N’Keal Harry with the 32nd pick in 2019.
Harry is now in his third season in the NFL. He’s on this third starting quarterback, this time trying to build a chemistry with rookie Mac Jones. It’s not working, and the Patriots are once again leaning on Jakoby Myers to be their starter. The Patriots also gave big money to Nelson Algholor and Kendrick Bourne to fill in the wide receiver position.
There was still hope that Harry could live up to his hype, but it hasn’t happened this season. Harry has five catches this season. Five catches, 77 yards, and no touchdowns is what was supposed to be considered a really bad game for him. However, that’s his season stat line. Harry is clearly not living up to his first-round tender anytime soon. It’s clear the Patriots will likely move on from Harry next season.
