They knew that New Orleans needed a win to stay alive, so playing spoiler only seemed natural. Unfortunately for the Falcons, it didn’t go that way, and now they, like so many teams, head to the offseason with so many questions.

What is the future for Matt Ryan? How do Deion Jones and the defensive rebound after a season like this? Above all, what is the future regarding Calvin Ridley and whether or not he will be back in the ATL? It’s a tall task for Arthur Smith and Arthur Blank at this point.

The draft has several intriguing names like Kenny Pickett and Matt Corral at the quarterback position if Atlanta chooses to go in that direction, but it’s a waiting game to see how and if things change for the Dirty Birds.

They beat Arizona, ensuring that the Cardinals would be a wild card team regardless of what happened with LA and SF. Now, Seattle looks at the offseason and the impending decision of their franchise quarterback Russell Wilson.

What do Pete Carroll and John Schnieder do at this point? If they move on, they run the risk of having to look deep in the draft for a new signal-caller and use whatever assets they acquire to rebuild. If they choose to keep Wilson, they need to make seismic changes to convince him.

It’s good to end the regular season on a winning note, but it’s bittersweet because of no playoffs and no first-round pick after using it on Jamal Adams. There could be a new era of Seattle football looming.
