3. Best coaching hire for the Miami Dolphins: Jim Caldwell, formers Lions head coach
Chris Grier unceremoniously fired Brian Flores from the Miami Dolphins after an 8-1 finish. His surprise exit opened up a spot for a team needing a fresh start., They aren’t in rebuilding mode, but a culture change is needed.
Flores rubbed people the wrong way, but an excellent replacement is Jim Caldwell. He’s a mild-mannered leader of men who knows how to get the best out of his players.
Caldwell knows the organization well. He was on the Dolphins staff with Flores before taking a leave. The former head coach was the only coach to have a back-to-back winning season since the 90s.
He coached Matt Stafford to the playoffs twice and helped him look better as a quarterback post-Calvin Johnson retirement.
He’ll get the best out of Tua and help change the culture in the organization. Chris Grier should get him in the building and not let him walk out.
