Washington Football Team: Trade for Carson Wentz – Keep Taylor Heinicke

There is very little risk with the Washington Football Team — soon to be rebranded — keeping Taylor Heinicke around.

The Ryan Fitzpatrick move didn’t work out for them at all, so it’s on to the next plan.

Washington should be considered a serious threat to draft someone again, but with a strong defense (at least in terms of the roster construction) and some solid weapons offensively, I could see this team in the market for a high-upside option via trade.

Guys like Derek Carr and Carson Wentz will almost undoubtedly be on Washington’s list this offseason but I chose Wentz for the time being. The Colts don’t seem overly interested in Wentz being their guy going forward and Wentz being back in the NFC East would be interesting to watch.

It’s hard to ignore the potential of the NFL Draft here but with the other players on this roster and the fact that this team is entering year three with Ron Rivera, is a rookie really the direction we’ll see them go?

I find that at least a little hard to believe given the class we’re looking at for 2022.
