Dallas Cowboys Round 5 Pick: Jack Sanborn, LB, Wisconsin

Yes, the Cowboys are likely losing Leighton Vander Esch in free agency which means they could be down a starting linebacker, but they still wait until Round 5 to address the position since they already have Micah Parsons and could bring back Keanu Neal who played well last season.

On top of that, Jabril Cox should be healthy and he too can end up being a quality contributor. As for their fifth-round pick here, they land Jack Sanborn from Wisconsin who could be a sneaky good pick this late. A sure tackler who can play in the middle, Sanborn can also bring the pressure on the blitz which makes him another fun prospect on this aggressive defense.

Dallas Cowboys Round 5 Pick: Jeffrey Gunter, EDGE, Coastal Carolina

With their second pick in Round 5, Dallas lands Jeffrey Gunter from Coastal Carolina. Some will say he’s a 3-4 OLB but Dan Quinn has proven he can use such players in his scheme. This ends up being another pick aimed at keeping the depth on the edge of the defensive line up to par.

Dallas Cowboys Round 6 Pick: Marquan McCall, NT, Kentucky

The final pick for Dallas comes in Round 6 and they use that to bring in a 379-pound nose tackle in Marquan McCall.

A complete bully, McCall won’t be an every-down player but he can really shut down the run game which means he could have a role in this defense.
