NFL Free Agency 2022: Best fit for Chris Godwin

Chris Godwin played in 14 games in 2021 before tearing his ACL, which came at the worst time before free agency.

Godwin, after 5 seasons in the league, has accumulated 4,643 receiving yards and 29 touchdowns.

He just turned 26, so he should have no problem landing a massive extension on the open market, even with his injury.

Godwin is reliable, as his catch rate has gradually gotten better each year in the NFL, and he has 2 seasons of 1,000 receiving yards and has a career average of 64.5 yards per game.

Chris Godwin is going to land with a wide receiver needy team.  I do not think he will necessarily try and land with a contender by any means.  He’s got a Pro Bowl and a Super Bowl, and I think chasing the money is the smart move here.

Look for a team like the Colts or Raiders to make a run at Godwin, who could use the receiver help.  I also would not rule out the Miami Dolphins, either.

The New York Jets and Jacksonville Jaguars could also benefit from adding a reliable pass catcher in Godwin to their mix.

Best fits: Colts, Jaguars, Raiders
