Dallas Cowboys mock draft: Both lines improved in 7-round mock

Dallas Cowboys mock draft Round 5 Pick: Malik Davis, RB, Florida
With Ezekiel Elliott and Tony Pollard under contract, Dallas doesn’t seem to have much of a need at running back. They also saw Corey Clement, JaQuan Hardy, and Ito Smith get in on the fun late in the season.
Still, they could look for more depth with Pollard in the final year of his deal — and Elliott’s deal nearing the point they can finally admit it was a mistake to bank on a running back with a long-term (and massive) deal.
That leads to them bringing in Malik Davis from Florida. Davis could have done well for himself to return to Florida for another season but he elected to chase his NFL dream. He’s also been on the Cowboys’ radar, earning a spot as one of their allotted 30 pre-draft visits.
He had 487 yards and five touchdowns last season on the ground and another 217 yards and two scores as a receiver. Davis might not be a household name, but he’s a player who could move the ball to the next level when called upon.
Dallas Cowboys mock draft Round 6 Pick: Cameron Dicker, K, Texas
For the past two seasons, Dallas fans have had a love-hate relationship with Greg Zuerlein. He was the one who had the incredible “helicopter” onside kick to help the team knock off Atlanta in 2020.
He also hit a couple of game-winners but in two seasons missed a total of 22 kicks, including six extra points in 2022 alone.
They finally ended the relationship but since they tried to bring him back on a cheaper deal, they also missed out on any trustworthy options. That’s why they use their final pick on Cameron Dicker from Texas.
A kid with a big leg, Dicker should solidify the position once again — while not costing them as much as Zuerlein did.
