Top NFL Free Agents for AFC East teams to consider

Buffalo Bills – James Bradberry, CB

What do you give to the team that has it all?  The Bills’ roster is absurd.  They have talent and depth at every position, but their cornerback room could use another small boost.

Why not James Bradberry, who was just released from the New York Giants?  Bradberry is a Pro Bowl corner who turns 29 this season.  He simply got too expensive for the Giants.

If the Bills do add another corner, I’d expect them to perhaps add a cheaper option with someone like Kyle Fuller, but Buffalo has shown the rest of the AFC how serious they are, so adding a stud like Bradberry would be on-brand for their offseason.

Miami Dolphins – JC Tretter, C

A team that has also added a ton of talent is the Miami Dolphins, who added both Terron Armstead and Connor Williams along their offensive line.

They have a hole at center, and the Browns recently released JC Tretter.  The Dolphins have enough cap space to sign Tretter, and he’d give the Dolphins at least three good players along the offensive line, which should be plenty for Tua Tagovailoa to try and prove to the front office and the league that he is legit.

The Dolphins themselves don’t have a ton of holes either, but their offensive line is the weakest part of their team, still.

New England Patriots – Quinton Spain, G

The Patriots had a Strange offseason.  They practically gave away Shaq Mason to the Buccaneers and over-drafted guard Cole Strange.

Keeping Mac Jones upright is a priority, so signing Spain, who is solid enough, could help fill the void left by Mason.

Spain recently played for the Bengals in 2021 and was effectively replaced in free agency when the team added Ted Karras and Alex Cappa.

Spain is still a quality player and should be able to latch on to a club for 2022.

New York Jets – Richard Sherman, CB

Even with the addition of Sauce Gardner, the Jets could still use another cornerback.  Why not reunite Robert Saleh with Richard Sherman?  It’s the same defensive scheme, and Gardner’s game is a lot like Sherman’s.

This is such a good match for both clubs.  Sherman can provide that stereotypical veteran leadership that a rebuilding team needs, plus he can still play at a decent enough level.

The Jets have had a very solid offseason, and signing Sherman would be a nice cherry on top.
