Which NFL teams should be calling Odell Beckham Jr. right now, even before he’s fully healthy? We take a look through some candidates.

Sooner or later, NFL teams are going to realize their need for Odell Beckham Jr.

Beckham has been one of the best receivers in the game when healthy and he put that on display in the Super Bowl against the Cincinnati Bengals, skying high for the first touchdown of the game as the Los Angeles Rams eventually emerged victorious.

Beckham suffered a knee injury that could cost him up to half of the 2022 season or more with a typical recovery timetable of 9 months after surgery.

But Odell Beckham Jr. is hungry again.

Should NFL teams be trying to sign Beckham Jr., even while he’s hurt, so that he can help them down the stretch run?

Yes, yes they should.

But who?

Let’s take a look through a handful of teams that could afford the risk of signing Beckham Jr. now so he can help them later.

Odell Beckham option no. 1: Los Angeles Rams reunion

Although it doesn’t make the most sense on paper after signing Allen Robinson, it seems like the Los Angeles Rams are definitely leaving the light on for Odell Beckham Jr. to come back.

After the Rams acquired him last year, Beckham found himself in a pretty good spot with the Rams, but he was definitely second fiddle — at best — behind Cooper Kupp.

If he returns to the Rams in 2022, it would be a very similar situation if not beyond just second fiddle.

Beckham would almost undoubtedly be behind both Kupp and Robinson should he return to the Rams.

Maybe catching lightning in a bottle last year was enough for both sides here, but this option remains exactly that — an option.

Odell Beckham Jr. option no. 2: Tampa Bay Buccaneers

We’ve seen Tom Brady play with quite the cast of characters through the last couple of decades.

Some of the best players in recent NFL history have caught passes from Brady, but the paths of Brady and Beckham Jr. have yet to cross, despite some rumors that they might over the last few years.

Now could be the perfect opportunity.

The Buccaneers did sign Russell Gage to help out as Chris Godwin recovers from his own ACL injury.

But imagine being the Buccaneers, getting both Godwin and Beckham Jr. at some point in the middle of this coming season.

It’s not exactly a luxury, either.

The Bucs will be without Rob Gronkowski this season as the future Hall of Fame tight end has decided to retire…again.

If Gronkowski is for sure not coming back, that could open up an opportunity for players like Mike Evans, Chris Godwin, Russell Gage, and Odell Beckham Jr. to share the load.

Beckham would also be playing in the state of Florida, which doesn’t have an income tax.

Title contender? Check.

Playing with a legend? Check.

No income tax? Check.

Sounds like a pretty sweet deal if you’re Odell Beckham Jr.

Odell Beckham Jr. option no. 3: Dallas Cowboys

It’s hard to believe it was almost eight years ago that Odell Beckham Jr. made one of the most iconic and memorable catches in NFL history against the Dallas Cowboys.

Almost eight years later, could Beckham join Dallas and get an opportunity or two against his former team in New York?

It might be one of the more likely potential destinations as the Cowboys had been sniffing around receivers almost all offseason before making a handful of rather modest moves.

After trading Amari Cooper to the Cleveland Browns, could we see the Cowboys land the former Cleveland Brown Odell Beckham Jr?

It would certainly be a lot of fun to watch.

Beckham along with CeeDee Lamb and the rest of the stars in Dallas would give the Cowboys one of the top offensive weapon arsenals in the NFL.

Even with Beckham coming off of injury, the possibility that this team could add such a significant talent at some point this season is one the team should not scoff at.

Especially after losing Amari Cooper this offseason as essentially a cap casualty, the Cowboys should be in on adding Odell Beckham Jr. to fortify their run this season at the NFC East and possibly actually contending in the NFC.

Odell Beckham Jr. option no. 4: Denver Broncos

If Russell Wilson tried to recruit Odell Beckham Jr. to come and play for the Denver Broncos, it wouldn’t be the first time Mr. Unlimited tried to get Beckham on his team.

Now, situations are certainly different and changing all the time. Just because Russell Wilson and the Seahawks wanted Odell Beckham Jr. last year, potentially, doesn’t mean that Wilson and the Denver Broncos would want him in 2022.

The Broncos have a very solidified top three at the receiver position with Courtland Sutton, Tim Patrick, and Jerry Jeudy.

KJ Hamler is the team’s fourth receiver but he’s also recovering from some significant injuries and surgeries over the last year, including ACL surgery and hip surgery.

The Broncos probably feel pretty good about their overall depth at the moment but a player like Odell Beckham Jr. as a midseason addition?

That would be something else.

It would be a ton of fun to see Beckham join the absolutely loaded AFC West this season. Sure, the Broncos have a lot of playmakers on paper now, but we saw last year just how many of their receivers went down with injuries and the toll it took on the offense.

Having a player like Beckham in their back pocket could be huge for the Denver Broncos‘ title contention chances in 2022.
