10 Super Bowl matchups we want to see in the 2022 NFL season

3. Tampa Bay Buccaneers vs. New England Patriots
When Tom Brady first went to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. in 2020, this seemed like a pipe dream. It still doesn’t feel incredibly possible — especially with how stacked the AFC is right now — but as we discussed earlier, teams have come out of nowhere to surprise us before. And this discussion centers on the New England Patriots, who are coached by Bill Belichick, one of the greatest minds in the game.
New England was just 7-9 in 2020, which was when Brady and the Bucs won their Super Bowl on their own field in Tampa Bay. Then last season, Belichick got a new quarterback in Mac Jones and they won 10 games, heading back to the postseason.
Jones might not have been elite as a rookie but the Alabama product played very well and did everything asked of him. This season, he should be able to do slightly more and the Patriots defense will continue to keep them in games as well. That’s a formula Belichick has had plenty of success with.
If they get back into the playoffs, there’s no telling what could happen. But there’s also no denying that it wouldn’t be a lot of fun to see if they could prevent Brady from winning another title should they be facing off with the Bucs.
