Now that the Chicago Bears have their roster pretty much set we can analyze the season much better. Here is a prediction of wins and losses in 2022.

Well, the Chicago Bears are pretty much set up for the 2022 season. They announced their 53-man roster. Of course, with other teams doing the same, there are other players who will be available. For example, the Las Vegas Raiders released offensive lineman Alex Leatherwood. The Bears claimed him off waivers so as of this writing they need to cut one of the linemen who thought they made the team.

We now have most of the players the Chicago Bears are going with this season. These are the guys the coaches and general manager Ryan Poles feel they want to go to battle with.

Now that we know what the roster looks like, we have a better idea of predicting the Bears’ win-loss record this season. We see an explosion of record predictions whenever the NFL releases the schedule. However, that release occurs before we know how the roster looks.

Look at the case of Teven Jenkins. When minicamps began, he was penciled in as the starting left tackle. Then the coaches moved him to right tackle. After that, they had him with the number twos, and later he was with the threes. When that happened, rumors circulated about his maturity and that the Bears were fielding calls for trades.

While everyone felt that Jenkins was gone, an opportunity arose at right guard. No one was able to solidify his position there. Micheal Schofield, someone Poles signed to possibly start there, had an awful showing in the first preseason game.

Jenkins shifted again and did well there. Suddenly he won the starting job. Back when the schedule was released, Chicago didn’t have Riley Reiff, Cody Whitehair, Lucas Patrick, Jenkins, and Larry Borom as the starting five. It also wasn’t clear if the Bears would go with such a young line. Three of the four draft choices on the line are on the roster. Add in Jenkins, Borom, and Leatherwood, and the Chicago Bears have six players with two seasons or less of experience.

Chicago Bears predictions for 2022 season: Weeks 1-4: 2-2 Record

In Week 1, the Chicago Bears take on the San Francisco 49ers at Soldier Field. Early in the season, we usually see some surprises. Offenses usually progress slower than defenses so that gives certain teams a chance at surprise wins.

With that being the case, both the Niners and the Bears have second-year quarterbacks in Trey Lance and Justin Fields. They are both full-time starters now. Let’s see which QB gets off on the right step.

The Bears have a new system. However, it seems Fields already has a good grasp on it. Offensive coordinator Luke Getsy likely has some wrinkles that we haven’t seen in the preseason. The Bears win a close one.

In Week 2, the Bears travel to Lambeau Field to take on the hated Green Bay Packers. Aaron Rodgers is where Fields wants to be. He isn’t there yet so the Packers win. It will be closer than many anticipate, though.

The Bears take on the Houston Texans in Week 3. Houston only had four wins last season but they made some improvements to the team. Additionally, we have the return of Lovie Smith. He is the Texans’ defensive coordinator. He’ll have a plan to hold down the Bears. This will be a good test for the offense. The Bears come away with the win, however.

The Bears go to New York to take on the Giants in Week 4. Even when the Bears played well they’ve had trouble in New York. Another close game, but the Giants come away with a win.

Chicago Bears 2022 schedule prediction — Weeks 5-8: 1-3 Record

In Week 5, the Chicago Bears travel to Minnesota to take on the Vikings. The Vikings have a high-powered offense. They will rack up a lot of points in 2022. Whether that translates to victories is to be seen. They’ll get the win this week, though.

The Bears and the Washington Commanders meet up at Soldier Field for a Thursday Night Football matchup on primetime. The national media has been rough on the Bears this offseason. This is a chance for Chicago to show that they aren’t as bad as they think they are. The Bears come up with a big victory here.

In Week 7 the Bears take to the road to face the New England Patriots. Bill Belichick is a master of taking away a team’s best option. He is ruthless against rookie coaches. Despite having 11 days to prepare for this game, New England comes away victorious.

The Bears stay on the road to face the Dallas Cowboys in Week 8. Dallas is too talented for the Bears and they win this game.

Chicago Bears 2022 season predictions — Weeks 9-12: 3-1 Record

The Chicago Bears host the Miami Dolphins in Week 9. The Dolphins’ speedy receivers will test Chicago’s secondary in this one. Miami comes out on top in a shootout.

In Week 10, the Bears end their three-game losing streak by taming the Detroit Lions at Soldier Field. The Lions are improved and always play hard, but they still have work to do to stop making Detroit mistakes. The Bears win going away.

In Week 11, the Bears travel to Atlanta to take on the Chicago Bears South, I mean, the Falcons. Former Bears general manager Ryan Pace is in Atlanta now and he’s brought a few of his former players with him. Atlanta is also in rebuilding mode like the Bears. Chicago gets a nice road win here.

The Bears return to New York in Week 12, this time to take on the Jets. This ends up being a very competitive game but the Bears’ defense comes up big late and Chicago squeaks by.

Chicago Bears 2022 season predictions — Weeks 13-18: 1-4 Record

Now the Chicago Bears get to the tail end of the season. In Week 13, they again face the Packers, this time at Soldier Field. Green Bay is humming now and preparing for its ultimate playoff failure. They beat the Bears again.

After their Week 14 bye, the Bears face another playoff contender, the Philadelphia Eagles in Week 15. The Eagles take this one.

In Week 16, the Bears travel to New York for the third time this season. This time they go to Orchard Park to face the Buffalo Bills. The Bills likely are battling for the top spot of the AFC. They roll over the Bears.

In Week 17, the Bears go to Detroit to take on the Lions for the second time. This is another close game, but the Lions again make critical errors to cost them the game. It’s nice to see the Bears win some because of that. We’re so used to seeing them make those errors.

In the regular season finale, Week 18, the Bears host the Vikings. At this point, Minnesota is likely fighting for a Wild Card spot. They end up winning this one.

So there we have it. The Chicago Bears finish the season with a 7-10 record. It’s just one more win than last season, but it’ll have a different feel to it. In 2021, the Bears looked lost and the coaching staff really failed them.

This season, there is less talent on the roster but the coaching will be much better. While they finish with another losing season, this one will garner a lot of hope. We’ll see development from Fields and the offensive line will be improved. The youngsters will get developed and then they’ll be in great shape to hit free agency and add to the roster.

For the first time in a while, Chicago Bears fans will have excitement heading into an offseason. Considering the daunting task they faced taking over this team, this would be a pretty good beginning to Poles and head coach Eberflus’ rebuilding.
