2023 NFL Mock Draft: C.J. Stroud back at No. 1

16. Tennessee Titans: Broderick Jones, OT, Georgia
With Taylor Lewan out, it’s clear just how badly the Tennessee Titans need depth at offensive tackle. They’ve tried a couple of times to address this area of concern but they can’t give up until they find an answer.
That solution could very well be Broderick Jones from Georgia. The 6-foot-5, 315-pounder has potential to spare and flashes brilliance. He’s also still learning the game and could use more consistency. Having said that, his ceiling is incredibly high and if they can get him to reach that, Tennessee will have a starter for the next 10 years.
17. Miami Dolphins (via San Francisco 49ers): Trenton Simpson, LB, Clemson
The 2023 NFL Draft is going to be a weird one since the Miami Dolphins went and tampered with Tom Brady and found themselves being stripped of their pick in Round 1. That means for the first time since 2016, there will be just 31 picks in the opening round. Ironically enough, it was Brady’s old team, the Patriots, that was without a pick that season.
Miami, however, will still be on the clock thanks to a trade with the San Francisco 49ers and they land an elite playmaker in Trenton Simpson. After spending time playing in the slot, Simpson has been in a linebacker role this year and should be a great weapon for head coach Mike McDaniel to deploy.
The hybrid linebacker is becoming a necessity in the NFL today due to the pass-happy nature of offenses and Simpson should be a stud in this role.
