MVP Candidate #2: Derrick Henry, RB, Titans

Definition: Juggernaut

Breaking tackles create opportunities for rushers to earn more yards – and defenses struggle bringing down Derrick Henry. When it’s clear that No.25 is receiving the football, defenders still fail to stop him from scoring. An appetite for the endzone makes Henry an elite back, and his numbers this season are more than impressive. Tennessee’s leading rusher is ranked first in rushing yards (1,010) and rushing attempts (230). His role on the Titans is vital to the team’s success and has kept the franchise in playoff contention.

Mike Vrabel’s squad is in the driver’s seat in the AFC South – looking to clinch a playoff berth. If Derrick henry continues his streak of dominance, the Titans will go as far as he leads them.

NFL MVP Candidate #1: Patrick Mahomes, QB, Kansas City Chiefs

Definition: Clutch Performer

A decision to part ways with Tyreek Hill raised concerns for Chiefs fans expecting another year of a dominant passing attack. Many believed the Cheetah was the key to Kansas City’s success and the franchise would perform differently. Patrick Mahomes heard the speculation and waited patiently to prove his doubters wrong. Consecutive weeks of good football changed the minds of viewers on the fence.

A last-second touchdown drive against Los Angeles Chargers displayed No.15’s clutch genes again – reminding fans why he’s the best quarterback in football. Mahomes ranks first in passing yards (3,265) and passing touchdowns (28) and is on his way to another playoff berth. Kansas City will continue to rely on their quarterback to lead them to success, and it is up to Mahomes to pull through.

Impressive performances throughout the season help the franchise advance towards a playoff berth. Greatness deserves recognition, and these players are representing their teams exceptionally well this season.
