2022 NFL picks, score predictions for Week 15
Kansas City Chiefs (10-3) at Houston Texans (1-11-1)
Sunday, December 18, 1:00 PM ET
The Kansas City Chiefs survived a pretty unexpected scare from the Denver Broncos this past weekend, thanks to some heroics from Patrick Mahomes and the Chiefs defense.
Although Mahomes threw three interceptions in the Chiefs’ win against Denver, he also made some of the most miraculous plays we’ve seen from him this year. On one of the Chiefs’ early touchdowns, Mahomes was rolling to his right with heavy pressure, and just before he ran out of bounds, he sort of just flipped the ball underhand to Jerick McKinnon who caught the floater from Mahomes and took it in for a score.
The Mahomes magic.
As the Broncos mounted an incredible comeback after being down 27-0, Mahomes put the Chiefs on the board again in the second half with a touchdown throw to JuJu Smith-Schuster when he seemingly had the whole Denver defense draped all over him.
In many ways, it was still a vintage performance from Mahomes in this one even if he did throw three interceptions. The Chiefs were still able to score 34 points (27 by the offense) against one of the toughest defenses in the league.
The Houston Texans did give the Dallas Cowboys a scare this past weekend, but even playing at home, do we expect something weird to happen here against Kansas City? That’s not overly likely, although you never know in this weird NFL season.
This might be a Chad Henne kind of game at some point for KC.
Prediction: Chiefs win 37-17
